Although there is an abundance of hair products to choose from that promises a healthy head of hair, but you don’t have to spend a chunk of your money on pricey products to reclaim your glorious locks!

We’ve come up with 4 Do-It-Yourself hair masks for you to try! And best of all, the ingredients are most likely already sitting in your kitchen or refrigerator too!

For Dry Hair

Mix in these ingredients together:
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons milk
This hair mask will definitely make your hair feel softer and thicker. It contains ingredients that are packed with moisturising elements. It will nourish and soften your hair and helps to promote growth and lock in moisture as well. If your hair is really dry, you can use this mask weekly.

For Dull Hair

If your hair is looking a little dry and dull, this simple yet effective mask will be perfect for you! The ingredient – plain yogurt, that’s it! Simply massage half a cup of plain yogurt into your hair and leave it on for 15-20 minutes! The milk fat will moisturise your hair while the lactic acid removes dirt and residue.

For Oily Hair

Mix in these ingredients together:
  • 1 egg white
  • the juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon salt
Egg whites are are the perfect remedy for oily hair. This is because the egg white tightens the hair follicle thus reducing the amount of oil that can be secreted. The lemon gets rid of oils currently in your hair and salt helps to strip hair of oils from product residue. If you have a mixer handy, whip the egg whites into stiff peaks before adding other ingredients. This will help to make the mask easier to apply to your hair.

For Itchy Scalp

Itchy scalp and dandruff may be caused by stress or poor diet. This mask can help to eliminate dandruff and leave your scalp feeling soft and smooth.

Mix in these ingredients together:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons water
The lemon juice aids in getting rid of flakes and dry skin while the oil helps to moisturise your scalp and hair!

Leave these hair masks on for about 15 – 20 minutes and wash your hair normally. You should notice the difference right away and say hello to locks that will make even Rapunzel green with envy!
