7 Ingredients in Your Fridge to Make a Face Mask

Open your fridge, and look inside. Chances are that you have the right ingredients to make a face mask. Yes, right now! 

Follow these recipes, and enjoy a night in with these DIY masks.

1. Lemon and olive oil 

Do not put the lemon juice itself onto your face. This could cause your skin to bleach. Mix the juice of one lemon with ¼ cup of olive oil and then apply it to your face. The lemon helps exfoliates your skin while olive oil moisturises it. This mask will also fight against wrinkles and black and white heads. As easy as that! 

2. Apple cider vinegar

Like lemon, do not put this ingredient by itself. Combine a ¼ cup of vinegar with a ¼ cup of water. Make sure to wash your face first before applying it onto your face. This face mask is the solution to treat a breakout as it dries up acne spots and removes dead skin cells. Make your face feel and smell nice!

3. Banana, honey, and yoghurt 

Try not to drool; this could also double up as dessert! First, mash a medium-sized banana into a paste. Next, add a ¼ cup of plain yoghurt and 2 tablespoons of honey. Believe it or not, bananas are not only full of vitamins but is also a natural exfoliator that removes excess sebum on your skin, making your skin glow. Sweet!

4. Milk 

It’s like a milk bath but without the bathtub. Mix a ¼ cup of powdered milk with water. Add water according to how thick or watery you want it to be. Once the paste is complete, dab it on your face, let it dry, then rinse with warm water. The lactic acid in milk can heal dry skin and heal acne. Your face will feel milky soft!

5. Oatmeal, yoghurt, honey, and egg whites 

Now all you have to do is bake it all together! Just kidding. Warm up a ½ cup of water then add a packet of oatmeal then add 2 tablespoons of yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of honey, and 1 egg white. Apply the mixture onto your face, and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Prepare a strainer in your sink so that the oatmeal won’t clog the drain! Oatmeal is a miracle ingredient for acne-prone skin as it absorbs oil from your skin and soothes irritated skin. And it’s yummy!

6. Papaya and aloe vera

Make the most out of living in a tropical country. Grab that papaya from your or your neighbor’s backyard (ask for permission first, okay?). With ¼ cup of a papaya, add some aloe vera gel and mix. Apply on face for ten minutes then use tissues to remove. This mask is like a power couple. The papaya is a potent antioxidant that dissolves dead skin cells as well as reduces wrinkles and dark panda eyes. The aloe vera gel hydrates the skin and gives your face radiant. Together, these two ingredients will make you feel new and shiny!

7. Avocado and cucumber 

Fresh is the word for this face mask. Cut half an avocado and add a ¼ of a cucumber, then blend them together. Avocado regulates oil production and reduces inflammation on the face while cucumber hydrates the skin and helps reduces pimple break out activity. Help your skin feel clean, cucumber cool, and fresh!
