Introducing the new fragrance for the new Diesel era

Diesel is back.
 
Since the arrival of Glenn Martens in October 2020, the iconic Italian brand is stronger than ever. In less than two years, the new Creative Director has reshaped the brand’s iconic codes and reinterpreted its heritage to deliver a strong and elevated vision.
 
Belgian-born Martens, who also heads the independent French fashion brand Y/Project, aims to make Diesel sexier, more sustainable, and more relatable to a younger audience.
 
He has reintroduced the legendary ‘Diesel For Successful Living’ white-on-red logo, has updated the design of Diesel stores, and is reconnecting the brand with its roots as an innovator of all things denim. Last February, Martens brought Diesel back to Milan Fashion Week, with its first live catwalk show in years.
 
Now it’s time to launch the first scent of this new era. A fragrance inspired by Gen Z for Gen Z and masterminded by Glenn Martens.





 

GEN Z: #COMINGTOGETHER

D was co-created for and with Generation Z.

Defined by curiosity, vocal opinions, and a commitment to sustainability, those under 24 in this generation actively champion ethical causes.

Raised with a global perspective, Gen Z is notably inclusive and engages actively in various causes, displaying curiosity, spontaneity, and sometimes a revolutionary spirit. Despite appearing confident, they can also express fragility, unafraid to show their emotions. Their nature is fluid, believing that nothing is set in stone.

Far from being passive, Gen Z uses both social media and physical activism to promote inclusiveness and tolerance, striving for a better world through collective action.

Gen Z not only advocates for change externally but also implements it in their lifestyles, embracing practices such as veganism and choosing natural beauty products. Positioned as today's changemakers, they work collaboratively to positively impact humanity and the planet.

The deep involvement of Gen Z in the creation of D is evident through interviews, focus groups, and the contribution of Gen Z consultants across all aspects of the fragrance.





 

THE FRAGRANCE: D FOR DENIM

D is Diesel's inaugural genderless fragrance, a premium amber fougère that captivates with its addictive and dynamic nature.

Far from ordinary, D is a character-filled scent that unites a diverse generation, embodying the spirit of change.

Crafted with sustainability in mind, D features two exclusive ingredients—Vanilla Bourbon premium infusion from Madagascar and Diva Lavender heart from Provence, France.

Adapting to your skin, D begins with energetic notes of spicy Ginger and aromatic Lavender, transitioning to a denim-like freshness. The fragrance evolves into a warmer facet with sustainably sourced Vanilla Bourbon infusion.

Certified VEGAN, D is available in refillable 100ml and 50ml.





 

THE PACKAGING: D FOR DISRUPTIVE

The bottle's design is both disruptive and iconic, resembling the crushed 'DIESEL For Successful Living' logo, leaving a mark that is playful yet thought-provoking.

The historic tagline 'Diesel For Successful Living' has been reintroduced by Glenn Martens, becoming a key element in the brand's visual identity.

Inspired by Diesel jeans, the bottle's cap mirrors the rivets and features the iconic capital D mark from the 1990s logo.

Prioritizing sustainability, D's packaging is eco-conscious. The bottle is 25 percent post-consumer recycled glass and 100 percent recyclable, with all formats being refillable.

The outer box, vibrant with a red D and Diesel logo, is made from 55 percent post-consumer recycled cardboard, maintaining solidity and safety.

Diesel is actively eliminating plastic usage by removing cellophane wrapping from the outer box.

In terms of the fragrance, it incorporates sustainably sourced vanilla bourbon infusion from Madagascar and diva lavender heart from Provence, with no animal-derived ingredients. This aligns with Diesel's commitment to responsible practices.
