Style Tips: Finding The Jeans of Your Dreams
A perfect pair of jeans is more or less the same like your one true love. You want it to last a long and meaningful lifetime. Though that could be an exaggerated statement, we hope the pair that we invested in to be a perfect companion that fits like our second skin. But choosing one from the variety of cuts, brands and washes can sometimes be overwhelming. So, here’s our quick troubleshooting guide to follow in your expedition to find the jeans of your dreams.
1. Get the size right
The biggest problem in finding the perfect size usually happens in the waist department. Which is the hardest thing to alter in a pair of jeans. Since brands have a very vague sizing as it is varied from one to another, it is best to measure yourself for the most accurate fit with a flexible measuring tape. Whenever you are trying on jeans, check whether it goes on easily, and if they do, go down to a size smaller. Jeans will always stretch on the waist area but not so much on the leg and thigh.
2. Try, and try again
Though sticking with what works seems convenient enough, don’t shy away from experimenting with different styles at least once. Whenever you are lost with the plethora of choices, get opinions from the salesperson or a friend to see what works best for your figure. However, before you pull the trigger, give a good spin in front of the mirror to see how it complements you. Remember that you are in for a long-term relationship, not just a fling.
3. Cash is king
Should you splurge or not is always the question when it comes to shopping. Well, it all boils down to your preferences really, if you have plenty of moolah to shell out, then go big homies! Simply because we always believe that quality comes together with a handsome price, especially in the denim world, investment is key for a long-lasting denim. However, you can always get the same pair at a bargain price during sale too, so keep your eyes peeled!
4. Heavy Oz.
Get your hands on the fabric as you browse through the rack. A good pair of jeans is made from a much heavier weight denim. The higher thread could be a clear sign of a well-made jeans that will last an eternity, but be mindful that we are living in a hot and humid weather, anything above 18 oz. will be disastrous to be in. Let’s stay relevant, shall we?
5. Dark washes
The darker wash jeans look more flattering and sharper than the lighter ones. The best part is that you can wear them on almost all occasions, whether you want to go for a night out or to a business meeting. Other than that, you could also brag for creating the authentic fades that are yours and yours only.
